Join the Coalition

Signature of the Statement of Participation, or another written expression of interest communicated through diplomatic channels, is sufficient to indicate participation.

How to participate

​

  1. Communicate your State's willingness to participate, either by signing the Statement of Participation or through another written expression of interest transmitted through diplomatic channels.

  2. Transmit the signed Statement or expression of interest to the Permanent Mission of Panama to the United Nations at the address indicated below.

  3. Designate a main contact person at your Permanent Mission to the United Nations for ongoing discussions, providing the name, title and contact details of that representative.

  4. The Permanent Mission of Panama acknowledges receipt and includes the designated contact person in its regular written updates, circulation of relevant information and invitations to Coalition meetings.

Who can participate

Participation in the Coalition is open to United Nations Member States. Civil society organizations, academia, Indigenous Peoples, local communities and other stakeholders contribute to the wider dialogue through the Harmony with Nature process and through the For Nature Civil Society Coalition, a separate coalition that brings together organizations and movements supporting this effort.

No financial commitments

There are no financial commitments associated with participation in the Coalition.

Voluntary participation

Participation in meetings is encouraged but remains voluntary. States may withdraw from the Coalition at any time by providing written notice to the Permanent Mission of Panama.

Sovereign positions preserved

Participation does not affect the positions or voting decisions of participating Member States in the General Assembly or in any other intergovernmental process.

Statement of Participation

Signed statements and expressions of interest should be transmitted to the Permanent Mission of Panama to the United Nations at:
