For Nature Coalition of States, announced and growing
A forum for interested Member States
The For Nature Coalition of States is an informal, decentralized and voluntary platform for consultation among interested United Nations Member States. It brings together States that wish to exchange experiences, share perspectives and contribute to ongoing discussions on a proposed United Nations Universal Declaration of the Rights of Nature, as part of the Harmony with Nature process at the General Assembly.
The Coalition provides a forum for dialogue, information sharing and diplomatic engagement. It is designed to complement, not replace, formal intergovernmental negotiations within the General Assembly.
Â
Participation in the Coalition does not imply endorsement of any specific legal framework, negotiated outcome, future instrument or text. It demonstrates a willingness to engage constructively in dialogue and to explore possible pathways forward.
Â
The Permanent Mission of Panama to the United Nations supports outreach and technical coordination for the Coalition, working with participating Member States.
The Three Principles of the Coalition

Dialogue
Equal Footing
Open and Inclusive
Interested Member States from all regions and groupings of the United Nations exchange national experiences, perspectives, lessons learned and good practices.
No participating Member State exercises authority over another. The Coalition operates on the basis of consultation, mutual respect and voluntary cooperation.
The Coalition supports open, transparent and inclusive intergovernmental dialogue, consistent with the objectives and principles of the Harmony with Nature process.

The Invitation
All interested Governments are invited to join or engage with the For Nature Coalition of States and to take part in consultations on the proposed intergovernmental process under Harmony with Nature.
The success and legitimacy of any future process will depend on broad participation across diverse legal systems, cultures, regions and development contexts. By joining the Coalition, Member States do not commit to any predetermined legal outcome. They help ensure that future discussions reflect the widest possible diversity of perspectives and approaches.
The Permanent Mission of Panama, in its coordinating role, welcomes dialogue with all interested Member States and looks forward to advancing this discussion together within the United Nations framework.
